A PIACERE

1999年，Dream Theater不負眾望，
推出一張令人振奮激賞的Concept Album《Scenes From A Memory》
完成了具有完整概念的前衛金屬歌劇(Metallic Opera)，


這張專輯的故事中有五位人物分別是：

1. 催眠師（The hypnoterapist ）：主導Nicholas的全程催眠治療。
2. Nicholas：一位經常為夢境中的女孩所困擾，終日惶惶不安，睡不成眠
，不得不求助於催眠治療，回到前世一探究。
3. Victoria Page ：Nicholas的前生，因男友Julian嗜賭成癮，屢勸不聽，
在灰心之餘讓Ed乘虛而入，譜了一段三角畸戀，終至招來殺生之禍。
4. Julian Baynes （the sleeper）：Victoria的男友，
因沉迷於賭，而且死得不明不白的，所以又稱為Sleeper。
5. Senator Edward Baynes [the miracle]：Julian的弟弟
，在Victoria傷心無助的情況下給了Victoric "奇蹟"似的撫慰
，而自己平白無故"奇蹟"似的博得佳麗的芳心，所以又稱為Miracle。

這張專輯與The Who的《Tommy》，
Pink Floyd的《The Wall》，
Queensryche的《Operation: Mindcrime》，合稱搖滾四大歌劇！

德國Morr Music廠從2004年The Go Find 的「Miami」 、
Styrofoam 的「 Nothing's Lost」等專輯至今，
原音吉他、筆記型電腦與真實歌聲三位一體，確立了流行電子民謠的路線。
來自美國佛羅里達州的Electric President延續此風格 ，
很難不讓人想起The Postal Service。
溫暖的歌聲與流暢旋律，聽起來也像是Beach Boys的現代版本，
背景從加州海灘搬到了現代都市...


Ben Cooper與Alex Kane，兩人今年二十歲左右，多才多藝，
寫作、繪畫、音樂各種創作質量兼具，
在組成Electric President之前，已有以Radical Face等化名的音樂創作與錄音經驗。
同名專輯以筆記型電腦加上吉他等原音樂器，花了八個月時間，
雖是在家裡手工製造完成，卻一點也不lo-fi，技術水平與錄音品質極高 ，悅耳而動聽。


Ben Cooper認為電腦只是工具，音樂仍是以吉他為主，他希望達到三個目標：
1.乾淨和可愛的音色
2.原音樂器與電子節奏的結合
3.歌曲結構的實驗創新。

就這三點而言，Electric President都獲致不錯的成果，
聽起來樂觀、坦然而充滿陽光，
除了好聽的"Good Morning, Hypocrate"、"Ten Thousand Lines"之外，
"Snow on Dead Neighborhoods"聽起來竟有Luna的錯覺，
而"Insomnia"與"We Were Never Built To Last"都值得注意，
編曲層次豐富，最後飆起來的迷幻吉他非常迷人，在快與慢、輕與重之間取得了平衡。
